It has been over three decades since Goddard ninth grader James Alan Kearbey walked into Goddard Junior High School with an assault rifle, killing a principal and injuring two students. Since then, school shootings have only become more prevalent. The latest shooting happened just two weeks ago in San Bernardino where a teacher and student were killed.
Goddard School District is hoping to add protection against intruder threats, but those hopes rest on how its taxpayers vote Tuesday.
