Young people, especially students, have a lot at stake when it comes to President Donald Trump’s shifting policies. He made some pretty drastic campaign promises about education. Among them, the promise to eliminate the Common Core educational standards, which 39 states use to make uniform benchmarks for math and English literacy skills.
Trump issued an executive order in April, telling Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to conduct a review of federal education-related regulations to see whether they unlawfully interfered with state and local decision-making.
