OELWEIN, Iowa (KWWL) — The Little Husky Learning Center Childcare (LHLC) Director has been fired, following an investigation into embezzlement claims.

We’re told charges are pending against Jessica Bratten.

According to LHLC Childcare Board Chairperson, Josh Ehn, Bratten embezzled around $10,000 over the course of a year. She has since been let go.

Materials gathered during the investigation into the embezzlement claims have been turned over to the Oelwein Police Department.

During the investigation, it was also discovered that proper payroll taxes were not paid. The center is working to pay those now.

After Bratten was fired, Shelly Vawter was appointed as the new director.
