Former Montgomery ISD daycare director pleads guilty to stealing thousands

The former co-director who oversaw Montgomery ISD’s child daycare program pleaded guilty to stealing more than $20,000 from the district Friday.

Marie Simonton, 48, will spend the next five years on probation and is forced to pay MISD $11,000 in restitution in order to avoid prison time. She paid the first $1,000 to district representatives in court Friday morning, prosecutors said.
