Sitting on the classroom floor or at desks designed for preschool-age children, a group of teachers recently practiced the instructional skills they’ll need when Oklahoma’s first public Montessori school opens in about a year.
The seven current or prospective Tulsa Public Schools teachers received three weeks of training this summer to learn how to be Montessori teachers, as the school district prepares to implement the educational strategy at Emerson Elementary School starting in the 2018-19 school year.
