When a local day care was in danger of closing, a group of parents came together to keep the school afloat. By embodying the old adage, “it takes a village to raise a child,” The Orchard School, formerly known as The Grove, will be open to continue its unique, holistic child care philosophy.
When most families move to Plano, their main draws are the city’s safety and its schools. This was certainly true for Erika Scheibe, a parent of the Orchard School.
“When you’re choosing a day care or a school for your child to go to, it really is about the staff that’s there and the other families that are there. You can put any brand name on the building and it can be what it is, but if you don’t have the staff to back it up and the philosophy of that staff, you don’t really have anything,” Scheibe said.
