When they receive their high school diplomas in 13-15 years, it will be the second time they’ve walked across the stage to graduate. Who would have thought a child can be a graduate before they even start kindergarten? That is what the Virginia Head Start Association is all about.
Averett University hosted the ceremony on Thursday morning last week in Pritchett Auditorium, as approximately 100 children walked the stage and graduated, getting ready to begin kindergarten in the fall. The Head Start program is offered by the Community Improvement Council in Danville.
